Au bistro, the most trendy of vintage cafés in Marché St Honoré

In the era of sushi-bars and iPads, finance whiz kids and trend setters come to steal a few moments amongst the frenzy of globalization. The « garçon de café » waiter, writes up the daily specials with a chalk on the blackboard:pot au feu, shepherds pie, crème brûlée… In this formica decor, there is a film-like quality that brings to mind scenes directed by Michel Audiard !

We like: « That’s Paris » in a café, the real thing where the lady-owner serves pretty boys in Weston shoes and twigs deck out with labels from head to foot, stop by « in old-fashioned style» for a cup of coffee or to bite into a ham and cheese sandwich while reading the Figaro or Vogue and sipping a glass of Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil.

Count 15-20 €
