Some romantic ideas for surprising your new date on Friday night !!!

1. Start your Friday night and make a date with Monet on Friday nights. Explore Monet's Garden, feast on great food, share a drink or two with your new date and enjoy pop-up talks, DJs and a stellar line-up of bands. Impress your eyes and ears every Friday at the NGV. The line-up includes musicians Vance Joy, Robert Forster, Good Heavens as well asGardening Australia host Costa Georgiadis and contemporary artist Fiona Hall who will both be presenting a 'pop-up' talk for visitors.

2. Having a dinner at Riva in St Kilda (marina). You can both enjoy the perfect view of the ocean on the deck but also the cosy firewood in the "Salle a Manger".

Riva St Kilda is one of Melbourne’s best-known secrets. Kick back and enjoy great food and drinks while you soak up uninterrupted bay views that reach from the Melbourne CBD to Portarlington. Riva St Kilda really is a stylish, world-class venue right on Melbourne’s foreshore.

3. If you like seafood, you can go to the Atlantic restaurant at the Crown complex. Fantastic food and great view on the Yarra river by night.

An ocean to plate philosophy inspires everything we do. While you were sleeping this morning, The Atlantic team was hand-selecting an unrivalled selection of wild and sustainable fish, unique oyster varieties and pristine shellfish to bring to today’s menu.
Executive Chef Donovan Cooke has created a series of menus designed excite the senses; from the oyster bar and a la carte, through to the degustation menu. This harvest is complemented by carefully-sourced produce from local and specialist suppliers. Some might think it obsessive to hunt for the perfect ingredient. For The Atlantic, it is a necessity.
Finish your night at the DEN (downstairs intimate bar). The Den is a celebration of the ritual of the great cocktail, the pleasure of great bar service and the sheer enjoyment of starting or ending a great evening at the bar.
The Den has been devised for every combination of nightcap and late-night rendezvous. An encyclopedic wine list, the city’s top mixologists, DJs and the sexiest glassware in town are all about sophistication, pleasing all the senses and offering our guests a night of escape.

4. Having a drink at the Lui Bar in the Rialto tower

55 floors up or 236.07 metres above sea level, The Lui Bar is a sophisticated space with seating available at the bar or in intimate clusters taking in the spectacular view over Melbourne.

Suspended over the central bluestone bar Mikala Dwyer's ‘chandelier’ of transparent clouds is a special commission from her series ‘Empty Sculptures’. Fabricated from industrial residual plastic, these forms play with the definition of sculpture.

Full table service of a snack menu, cocktails, beer, champagne by the glass and a range of boutique spirits is available. Live music every Sunday afternoon.

Cocktails are divided into ‘yesterday’ and ‘today’ charting the evolution of Melbourne’s drinking culture. Reinvented snacks such as the ham and cheese toastie and chicken noodle soup sit comfortably besides champagne friendly fare of caviar and oysters.

5.You can finish your night at the most trendy & romantic bar in Melbourne The Ponyfish Island. Enjoy the  fabulous views of the city and the yarra river by night.

Found under the pedestrian bridge on Southbank, and only accessible from stairs which descend from above, discover another world at Ponyfish Island.

Ponyfish bar and restaurant has a location as unique as its name, hidden away in a floating haven on the Yarra River.

Enjoy !!!
