BORDEAUX FETE LE FLEUVE : The 41 boats of the Solitaire du Figaro left Bordeaux yesterday afternoon

The first monohulls set sail in mid-afternoon. After this prologue - eventually turned into parade, the start of the first part of the Solitaire du Figaro (direction Porto), is scheduled for today Sunday at 13h in Pauillac.

After one week the pontoons moored in the River Festival in Bordeaux, sailboats of the Solitaire du Figaro left the 'Port de la Lune" yesterday afternoon.

Prologue parade has been converted  because of the state of the Garonne

The prologue of the Solitaire had to be changed due to the large number of dead wood on the Garonne. The organizers have decided to make from the four by four boats every 15 minutes to minimize the risk of collision.

"La Garonne, flooded last night (regular rate 650 m3 per second. Actual flow 3000 m3 per second), carries a lot of dead wood, requiring the reduction of the navigation area," said organizers Solitaire.
